Halloween Ornament

I made this Halloween ornament today. It is made out of 2 pieces of 2x3 glass. I color the back piece of glass with alcohol inks. I then attached a Cricut die cut candelabra to the front of the back piece of glass and attached a piece of printed cardstock with a white back to the back. I topped with the other piece of glass and used copper foil tape to bind the two together. I added a ribbon to the back with hot glue.

Works in Progress

Not very good pics, but this is what I was working on today. The Art Journal page is "Swimming In A Sea Of Drama", it's not finished. The skeleton is done, I think, that can change.

Strange Drama

I don't know what is going on in the universe, but there has been some strange drama. This is my response to it.

Skeleton Skull Practice

I am going to practice drawing/painting skulls. Right now I have 3 dolls to assemble, one still needs to be sanded and painted. One needs to tell me what she/he wants on her/his head and the other needs to decide on the legs/shoes (no, I'm not going crazy and know that I have to decide) :) I also primed a small cigar box to be used as the body, so that needs painting too. But for now I'm going outside to pot some plants and water.

Limited Color

The challenge was to create a painting with a portrait in it and use only the following colours:

Black

White

Grey

(made out of black and white, duh)

A salmon or flesh tint

(but not on the face)

Titanium Buff

and a smidgen of Pink.

I didn't use any Pink

Work In Progress

I am thinking of using the cap from a plastic soda bottle for a hat for this one. It reminds me of a bellboy's cap, or the tap dancing Pall Mall boxes.

What A Difference A Day Makes

I made some changes to my plastic soda bottle doll. Pulled stuff from my stash and went from there, I think I like this one.

And Now For Something New.....

This is still a work in progress. For the body I used a plastic pepsi bottle, covered it with clay, sanded, painted it white, used an old McCalls dress pattern to cover body, then painted it pink, then blotted it with white paint. I then added stamped images, and then added a gel stain. Still need to work on the face a bit and attach the feathers and crown, right now they are pinned an perched.

Work In Progress

Here is something that I'm working on now. What to try to do a mummy next. I have cheesecloth soaking in black tea now to give it an aged look, good for mummy wrap.

I really like this doll. I used feather trim for the hair. I found it at Tuesday Morning of all places.

Pumpkin Face

Okay, here's another Pumpkin Face. I decided to use some scrap paper to make a cone, and for the arms I used these woven paper ribbons I had made about a year ago. I was going to construct a purse, but lost interest. I knew I'd find a use for them.

Scary Face

I did this face, not really happy with it, but decided to do something with it anyway. I like it better now.

Another Pumpkin Art Doll

For this doll instead of a cape I added a collar, and the shoes are those plastic baby shoes used for decoration at a baby shower. I sprayed the shoes with Kilz Primer and then painted them and then added some bling.

Here is my piece for Collage, Paint and Soul with Tamara Laporte from Willowing.ning.com. I used scrapbook paper and pages from a magazines to create my collage. Then I painted over the face and hair, did some stamping, brayer work, created hands, added the text and then some bling. I really like how it turned out.

21 Secrets - Abstract Adventure - My 1st Painting

Wow, 21 Secrets is great!!! It started on 4/1/2011 and ends on 7/31/2011. So much fun, there are 21 fantastic workshops, where to start. Well, I started with Abstract Adventure, with Connie Hozvicka (Connie is also the wonderful person that brought all these amazing artist together). This is my 1st painting for the Abstract Adventure, this one is more about the process, but I really like it, wasn't sure where it was going, but I trusted Connie and went with it.

Fairy Wall-Hanging - Inspiration: Brian Froud

I have almost finished my wall-hanging for the M3 course. This is my "Art Supply Fairy". The inspiration this week was Brian Froud. I need to add some beads or fibers, something I'll have to figure it out, see what works.

Finished Mermaid 3M Course

I finally finished my Mermaid. The inspiration was Chagall. I used a 2x4 piece of plywood for this painting. It was somewhat hard to paint on as it just sucked up the water and paint.
